Big Redfish – by Capt. Geoff Bennett

big redfish, fishing, spot tail, charter guide, charleston

Facing another day of stiff winds, the Towles family did a great job today. Had redfish up to eight pounds eat cracked crab at our first stop. We went to fish some oyster beds as low tide approached. Not long after our first casts, John’s rod violently bent over and the drag began to scream. The fish pulled so hard the reel blew up halfway through the fight but would still turn. After a few minutes, we had a thirteen pound redfish in the boat! Followed up with more big fish including a nine pounder to finish a great trip.
