I don’t get the opportunity to fish for largemouth anymore, but we made the most of this one. A great day on the water that ended with this lunker. Fishing a Carolina rig with a zman watermelon worm on the outside of grass edges in about 6-8 ft of water produced. Heading out in the [...]
We came around the corner of a river and saw a most welcome sight: the flickering splashes of menhaden. It was the first time I had seen them this season and quickly netted up some for bait. The redfish loved them. At our first stop, Dave muscled in a sweet nine pound redfish. Used to [...]
It was just one of those days. We went to three different spots and found no shortage of redfish. Redfish in tight-knit schools of 20-30 fish; redfish packed into creek fingerlings so tight their backs were out of the water; redfish cruising up and down grassy banks flashing their gold and white bellies. All had [...]

We started our charter around noon as the water was beginning to come out of the grass. Well, for the last few weeks people have been asking if we were catching any flounder since people gigging flounder had been so successful recently. We had not been catching them and based on other guides’ reports neither had they. But at the end of yesterday’s charter, we caught our first of the season with [...]

We dissected docks today. We used cracked blue crab and went at it. We hit about 10 docks in all, hitting just about every crack and crevice around each one with our baits. We had about a 50% success rate but it was worth it and that’s what it takes when you are dissecting docks. [...]

I got out on the water with John and his friends from VA as the sun was coming up. We started out using mud minnows around the grass as the tide was coming out, but it was Zman Paddlerz that really produced. It was just one of those artificial bait days. We had tremendous success [...]
