Sheepshead Report – March 1st – by Capt. Robert Olsen

sheepshead charleston fishing, report

Sheepshead fishing may be the best ever. The warm water temperatures have them biting! Fished with clients the past couple of days and caught close to 100 combined. Most fish are in the 1-2 lb. Range. We did have about a dozen in the 5 lb range with one 7 lbs. I have been using my new underwater camera and it is the ticket in locating them before you even grab a rod. Fished the Cooper River and Charleston harbor. We also managed about 10 trout on Tuesday’s trip. They were in 10 ft of water and all undersize. DOAs were the bait of choice.  The trout were very aggressive and the water temperature was 60 degrees.

Tight lines,

Captain Robert Olsen
