Tropical Update for July 10th

Hurricanes? Nope. Tropical Storms? Nope. Tropical Depressions? Sadly, nope. Just one exquisitely wimpy wave just past the WIndward Islands near 062W.  40 kts of shear have this wave well ventilated which effectively neuters, not tutors, any convective development as the wave drifts west. A quick perusal of last night’s model runs, specifically the Navy NOGAPS model, shows shear relaxing across the equatorial Atlantic all next week into the magic happy range of less than 20 kts that will tutor, not neuter, any convective development in any future waves rolling off the west coast of Africa. Charming.

No tropical storm formation is expected during the next 72 hours.
