Weather Alert for Sept. 18th, 2009

Only two blobs of semi-interest in the Tropics.  The blob formerly known as Fred continues to drift west with embedded wimpy showers. Ex-Fred will wash out over the Bahamas this weekend. The next blob of interest is 98L. There is a whiff of organization in 98L as well as some decent convection. 98L tracks west at 10 kts but will be dogged by shear along its track.  The latest model runs have 98L punted by shear in the next 72 hours. The Tropics remain underwhelmingly quiet as a moose this weekend and into next week.

The National Weather Service has energized the Seattle simulator for the State this weekend.
