A wimpy cool front will stall out over the Upstate this afternoon and trigger afternoon thunderstorm after 2 PM. Most of the thunderstorm action will be focused over the Upstate, northern Midlands and Pee Dee to the Beach. A few thunderstorm cells will ring the severe bell with 50-60+ mph winds, heavy thumping rain and lethal lightning. Not a very nice beach day. The Storm Cowboys at the Norman Oklahoma based Storm Prediction Center and Feed Store have placed the central and northern counties of the State under the “slight” threat for severe thunderstorms. Geez, oil blowout disasters, hurricanes, tropical storms, Djibouti heat and humidity AND fireants: “Ma, pack up the wagon we’re moving to Washington State!” Oh wait, bears, earthquakes and volcanoes… never mind.
